Saemangeum Development Agency (hereinafter referred to as SDIA) Administrator Kim Kyeong announced that by participating in the ‘2025 Gunsan Saemangeum Marathon’ held in Gunsan City on April 6 introduced Saemangeum to Koreans and foreigners.

The Gunsan Saemangeum Marathon is a representative race of Gunsan that is loved by domestic marathoners and it's the 19th year. SDIA is actively promoting it to strengthen communication with the local community and widely publicize the charm of Saemangeum.

The promotional booth set up by Saemangeum Development Agency held events where anyone can participate, such as photo zone and roulette games with promotional gifts, which were popular in both contestants and visitors.

Participants followed Saemangeum's SNS and took pictures at the photo zone with hashtags promoting Saemangeum such as #Saemangeum Fighting and #2036Summer Olympics Bid Wish, and had the lucky winners won various prizes including wireless earphones, gift certificates, and hand-held fans.

Additionally, around 10 SDIA employees participated in the marathon and achieved the feat of completing it without a single person falling behind.

One employee said, “There were times when I wanted to give up running, but I was able to finish the race because I had colleagues who ran together with me step by step.” He added, “I felt a sense of accomplishment because I was able to take care of my health and participate in the event as an employee working on Saemangeum to help promote Saemangeum.”

Cho Hong-nam, Vice Administrator of Saemangeum Development Agency, who visited the marathon venue, said, “Saemangeum is the future of the Republic of Korea and the future of Jeollabuk-do,” and added, “I am glad that we can have a valuable time promoting the development of Saemangeum and sharing a healthy spirit of challenge through this marathon.”
